When women arrive at Meta House, they are ready to find freedom – freedom from their addiction, freedom from the chaotic life that they have been living, freedom from the trauma they have endured. These women have already overcome unimaginable obstacles, sometimes so large they feel insurmountable. They remain so focused on surviving day-to-day life, that it feels impossible to see a future free from addiction, and still, they arrive ready to seek help.
Surviving active addiction looks different for everyone. Some struggle to find a warm place to sleep at night. Others worry about how they will put food on the table for their families. Many women find themselves looking for a way to escape abusive, unsafe conditions.
Join us to hear the story of a woman who survived active addiction and found freedom in recovery.
