Families Come First

Once again, Meta House is leading the way to advance care for women and their children. A new collaborative partnership between Meta House, the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare, and the Milwaukee County Children’s Court is going to keep children safely with mothers who struggle with problems with substance abuse. Read more about this exciting pilot project.

Meta House Executive Director Francine Feinberg is recognized for her visionary leadership

Our Changing Lives, Changing Milwaukee Gala on November 21, 2009 was a great success. Over 200 people gathered to celebrate Francine Feinberg's 25 years of dedicated service to Meta House and the work of the agency. Read the Journal Sentinel article here.

Please watch this touching video which was shown at the event:

Francine was also featured in the Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle, in an article (read it here) that highlighted how she and Meta House have changed over time.

Meet Marcilla and her Meta House baby, Jonathan

Marcilla is a client in the Meta House Outpatient Treatment Program, and gave birth to her son Jonathan in July 2009. Happy and healthy, they spent Jonathan’s first Christmas together.

They received presents, which were donated by community members, during Meta House holiday celebrations. Marcilla said afterwards that “it was a great surprise and a true blessing. Even though Jonathan is only 5 months old, I could tell that he was so happy. My whole room was filled with his gifts! We are so thankful.”

Thank you to all who contributed during the holiday season. Our clients benefit greatly from your donations year-round, so if you would like to help them and their children, here are some ideas:
